Introduction to Mantrailing

Price

Duration

£65

Half Day

Mantrailing is an exciting new dog sport that teaches you and your canine companion how to locate a person using an article that carries that person’s scent. Your dog already has a natural ability to track scents and seek things out—mantrailing harnesses that instinct into a fun and rewarding team activity.

At the start of the course, your instructor will provide an overview of mantrailing, covering the essential information you need before you get involved. You'll explore the science behind scent work, understanding not only what you do but also what your dog is doing during each trail.

Dogs will then receive individual attention. Throughout the session, you’ll receive hands-on feedback and guidance as you learn how to prepare your dog for trailing, effectively motivate them, and introduce them to scent articles. Your dog will also have the opportunity to complete trails with your instructor, who will interpret your dog’s body language and explain how it relates to the task at hand.

For your dog’s safety and comfort, we ask that they remain in your vehicle when not actively working—except for designated toilet and water breaks.

This course is particularly suitable for reactive dogs. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us first to discuss your dog’s specific needs.
