Expert Witness Services – Dangerous Dogs & Animal Behaviour Cases (Scotland)
A Clinical Animal Behaviourist (DipCABT) with extensive experience in canine behaviour and welfare, offering a professional Expert Witness service for cases involving dogs and their owners facing legal proceedings under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and the Control of Dogs (Scotland) Act 2010.

This service is specifically tailored for solicitors and legal professionals requiring expert behavioural insight in both criminal and civil matters, including:

-
Allegations of dogs being dangerously out of control
-
Incidents involving Dog Control Notices (DCNs)
-
Concerns over temperament, handling, and risk assessments

Each case includes a comprehensive Behavioural Consultation covering all aspects of the dog’s life, history, environment, and relevant behavioural patterns. Following the assessment, a detailed written report is produced for submission to the court, offering clear, impartial, and evidence-based professional opinion. We are also available for full and half day Court appearances should it be necessary.

With a strong understanding of both canine behaviour and the legal frameworks in Scotland, we work closely with legal teams to provide clarity, context, and practical recommendations that assist the court in reaching fair and informed outcomes.
